Church Mission Statement
We are a body of Lutheran believers in Jesus Christ chosen by God and empowered by the Holy Spirit to spread His Word and to be an example through His love to the Brunswick area and the world. Because of our identity in Christ we seek to make disciples of all Nations.

School Mission Statement
The mission of St. Mark Lutheran School is to uplift Grace Alone, Scripture Alone, Faith Alone through the training of students to carry out the Great Commission, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" Mt 28:19, by providing opportunities for spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and social growth in Christ-centered environment.

Credo: We believe: Grace Alone, Scripture Alone, Faith Alone

By this we mean:

Grace alone - God loves all the people of the world, even though we are sinful, rebel against Him and do not deserve His love. He sent Jesus, His Son, to love the unlovable and save the ungodly.

Scripture alone - The Bible is God's inerrant and infallible Word, in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. It is the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine.

Faith alone - By His suffering and death as the substitute for all people of all time, Jesus purchased and won forgiveness and eternal life for them. Those who hear this Good News and believe it have the eternal life that it offers. God creates faith in Christ and gives people forgiveness through Him.

Philosophy
Basis for School:
We believe the existence of St Mark Lutheran School is an outreach of St. Mark Lutheran Church which supports and encourages carrying out the Great commission, develops the child and family for Christ centered service, and responds to the spiritual needs of the local community and the world. Without the school we would not be utilizing all of the resources God has given us to carry out His will. We understand through scripture that all are born into this world in sinful nature and rebel against God. Through our school we will with the help of God, "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Provb. 22:6

Environment
The environment provided at the school will be Christ centered with faculty, and staff of the Lutheran faith. We show the love of Christ by expressing concern and taking action in the development of the child and his family through meeting the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and social growth. "Love your neighbor as yourself" Mark 12:30-31). St. Mark Lutheran School acknowledges the trust placed in the school by its families. St. Mark holds in high regard the privilege it has been given of ministering to these families and assisting them in the Christian training and nurturing of their children.

Education
We believe that Jesus Christ mandates excellence in education and perfection through His word and deeds. In an effort to be Christ like, we will continually improve the quality of education. The standard will always be to achieve the best we can by God's help and grace. In order to provide a Christ centered education, the religious aspect of life is an integral part of what is considered "standard education" Education is not just the teachers and church leaders responsibility but must be inclusive of the individual, the family, the church and organizations of the Church & School.

Scripture
The Scripture is understood to be the inerrant and infallible word of God and is taught as such at St. Mark Lutheran School. The Scriptures and Lutheran confessions are used to train the students in the knowledge of and commitment to the Holy Scriptures, as evidenced in Word and deed and enable St. Mark Lutheran to share the Good News.

Christ Centered
Christ centered means that the purpose behind life is following Jesus, the Christ. We understand that we are born into this world with sin and must be taught the Way. The goal of the school is then, to lead each student to develop a strong relationship with his/her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The school will help each student apply the wisdom of the Holy Scriptures to all of life and living; to participate in the expansion of God's kingdom to exercise Godly dominion over God's creation, and thereby to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. St. Mark Lutheran School is dedicated to the development of each individual as a redeemed child of God.

Community/Citizenship
We believe that St. Mark Lutheran School is an integral part of the ministry of St Mark Lutheran Church. The School is a mission arm of the church. As Christ extended His love and concern for us, we are extending our love and concern for the students. By approaching education through the eyes of Christian truths, we are ministering to both members of our church and non-members, thereby providing an opportunity for the Holy Spirit to lead them to Christ. St. Mark Lutheran School is St. Mark Lutheran Church in action: ministering to the young people of our parish, as well as members of the Brunswick community who desire a Christ centered education for their children.

Objectives: Provide an education

A. That integrates Christ into all aspects of environment, educational experience, curriculum, and community.

B. That is in accord with the Old & New Testaments, which we call the Holy Scriptures, and believe to be the inspired and inerrant Word of God, the only rule of faith and practice.

C. That possesses academic excellence, spiritual depth, and moral integrity, and enables the whole child to develop in a nurturing environment.

D. That trains students in knowledge and commitment to the Holy Scriptures as evidenced in word and deed. This enables students to share the Good News with others.

E. That prepares pupils for Godly participation in our society and world.
